HSMworks (High Speed Machining) - high-speed processing module for SolidWorks.
The theoretical justification for high-speed processing is the so-called curves of Solomon, which showed lower cutting forces in a certain range of speeds. But the most important factor here is the redistribution of heat in the cutting zone. For small sections cut in the speed range most of the heat is concentrated in the chip, without having to go into the workpiece. That is what allows the processing of hardened steel, without fear leave the surface layer. Hence the basic principle of VSO: a small section of a cut taken from the high-speed cutting, and therefore high speed spindle and high minute presentation. There is even a recommendation that the depth of cut should not exceed 10% of the diameter cutters. But with the development of new mnogozubyh cutters for roughing hardened steels, tool manufacturers recommend the traditional depth of cut while maintaining the small steps. In this case we can speak of thin sections cut.
